Conveniently located on Kitchener Street, the main entrance to town, this grand 1872 Homestead is one of Martinborough’s very first houses and makes for a fantastic large family get away.
The kitchen is equipped with a good supply of cooking, dining and glasses, all located in the walk in pantry.
The bedrooms are beautifully presented, with new carpet, luxurious beds and beautiful drapes. The largest of the bedrooms has French doors opening out to the verandah and overlooking the vineyard. The King/Twin room is ideal for children, with a third bed (double) on the mezzanine floor. For the more adventurous, there is a secret bedroom, accessed by a vertical ladder at the rear of the house. The main bathroom has a clawfoot bath, separate shower and WC. There is a second shower and WC in the laundry.
Enjoy relaxing by the firebox in the Study/Library either to read or watch Sky TV. The Lounge offers a charming mix of vintage seating and modern art, and is perfect for relaxing or more formal entertaining.
With expansive grounds, including the 10 acre vineyard and an abundance of sheltered spaces, there are plenty of ideal spaces for relaxing in the shade on a sunny day, or dining on a balmy Martinborough evening.
Rates include two bottles of Porters wine.
